“We have spoken to VFS, Embassies and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and it is becoming a big challenge. We will officially write to all European countries on this matter,” said TAAI President Jyoti Mayal.
“We are hearing that countries like Greece have not returned passenger passports for more than two months. There is also a huge pending demand for America. The situation is getting worse, and it is the peak tourist season of summer.”

VFS Global, which manages administrative and non-discretionary functions related to issuance of visas and passports, said it is experiencing a large number of applications from India and extended visa processing timelines.
