Maharashtra Covid restrictions: Strict restrictions in the state!

Mumbai : The chief minister on Wednesday rejected a cabinet meeting that sought easing of restrictions, including increasing shop hours in areas where the number of corona patients has come down. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has indicated that the restrictions will continue in view of the Union Home Ministry’s order to take drastic measures to contain the threat of a possible third wave, and not because of the expected drop in the number of patients.

There is a demand to relax the restrictions imposed regarding Corona. Trade unions have called for increasing shop hours. Its impact was felt in the state cabinet meeting on Wednesday. At present, shops are allowed to open from 7 am to 4 pm. In addition, shops that do not have essential services remain closed on weekends. Shops (on page 8)

(from page 1) Traders are demanding permission to keep it open till 7 pm. Even in districts with low patient numbers, some ministers have demanded that shops be allowed to remain open till 7 pm.

In this meeting, a presentation was given by the Health Department on the situation of Corona. Although the number of corona patients has decreased in most parts of the state, but the number of patients is more in 10 districts. In the last few weeks, the daily graph of corona patients in the state has stabilized between 7,000 and 8,000. But this did not happen when it was expected to be less than 5,000, it was reported. It also drew attention to the threat of a third wave from the central level. Against this background, it was indicated that the immediate ban would remain in force despite demands for extension of shop hours.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting with the Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu on July 16. The meeting will take place in the backdrop of the possibility of a third wave of Corona. Therefore, the question of decision on easing restrictions in the state before that meeting does not arise. The future direction will be clear after that meeting.

Health Minister Rajesh Tope clarified that the cabinet has not taken any decision to relax the restrictions in the state in view of the threat of corona. The second wave of corona is going on in the country. However, the Indian Medical Association has warned of a third wave. Shops in areas with low patient numbers are required to be opened by 7 pm instead of 4 pm. However, he clarified that in view of the single rate corona in the state, a decision has not been taken to relax the restrictions.

8,602 new corona patients in the state

Mumbai: On Wednesday, 8,602 cases of coronary heart disease were reported in the state, in which 170 patients died. The number of patients increased by one thousand compared to Tuesday. Re-spread in Nagar, Beed, Palghar, Solapur

Mumbai: Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Raigad and Solapur, Palghar, Beed and Ahmednagar districts have been added to the list of districts with the highest rate of hospitalisation. There are 92 percent patients in 10 districts of the state. In the other 26 districts, there are 8 per cent patients, Health Minister Rajesh Tope said.

Vaccine policy changes demand

At present, vaccines are supplied to the districts in proportion to the population. However, in the cabinet meeting, it was demanded that priority should be given to supply of vaccines to districts with high number of patients. The health department said the state was not getting enough supply of vaccines.

Center notification for action on violation of rules

New Delhi: Corona rules are being violated in markets and tourist places. Therefore, action should be taken against the officials concerned who do not implement the rules, the Union Home Ministry directed the states and union territories on Wednesday. Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla has said in a letter to the states and union territories that care should be taken to avoid overcrowding during transport.

Traders have made many demands, including opening of shops by 7 pm, in areas where the number of patients is less and who have taken two doses of the vaccine. This information has been given to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and the Chief Minister himself will decide on the relaxation of restrictions.
