Maharashtra: Shiv Sena MLAs fear losing seats to MVA allies promoting Shinde’s rebellion. India News – Times of India

One of the main reasons behind the revolt in Nashik/Pune Shiv Sena Its legislators fear that they will be defeated by alliance partner NCP and Congress If the Maha Vikas Aghadi continues, the senior Shiv Sena The elected members told TOI on Thursday.
A Shiv Sena MP, requesting anonymity, said he was unsure about getting a ticket for the next Lok Sabha Elections “In my constituency, both the MVA alliance partners are willing to contest. If our leadership agrees with them, I will lose my seat. This was not the case when we had an alliance. BJP Who never claimed my seat, knowing that it belongs to Shiv Sena.”
Their concerns are heightened with elections to at least 10 municipal corporations and several gram panchayat and zilla parishad elections later this year.
“These leaders are concerned about their seats and their supporters in these elections. Shiv Sena fought against Congress and NCP for three decades and the rivalry is deep. It will not be possible to adjust or share seats like it was with BJP, Said a veteran Shiv Sena member.
“In such circumstances, the rebels feel that the Shiv Sena leadership can get away with a few seats won in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections after hard bargaining by its alliance partners. If the Shiv Sena leadership fails to dominate them, the current MPs and MLAs can eventually fight as independents or run for NCP or Congress with their seats,” said the senior Shiv Sena leader.
On the other hand, the Shiv Sena leader said, there was no hiccups in the alliance between BJP and Shiv Sena during the elections as neither of the seats won by each party were claimed.
He recalled that in Muktainagar, local leader Chandrakant Patil had staked claim for a party ticket for the assembly elections, but was denied after the seat was earmarked for the BJP. He resigned, contested as an independent and defeated BJP’s Rohini Khadse.
All five Shiv Sena MLAs from north Maharashtra—four from Jalgaon and one from Nashik—contested against NCP candidates. “We are fighting the NCP and Congress in many constituencies as they are our traditional rivals. The BJP has been a natural ally of the Shiv Sena,” said an independent MLA who supported Shinde.
